మరియ తల్లి శిలువ వద్ద మరియు కల్వరి ప్రయాణంలో ఉన్నందున, ఆమె జరిగినదంతా చూసిందని మనం భావించవచ్చు. ఆమె కూడా తన కొడుకును అరెస్టు చేయడం, తీర్పు విధించడం మరియు అన్యాయంగా ఖండించడం చూసి ఆత్మీయంగా బాధపడింది; క్రీస్తుని అవమానించి దారుణంగా గాయపరిచారు. ఆ విధంగా సిమియోన్ ప్రవచనం ఇక్కడ నెరవేరింది, "ఒక ఖడ్గము నీ హృదయమును దూసుకొని పోనున్నది." (లూకా 2:35). యేసును శిలువ వరకు అనుసరించిన ఇతర స్త్రీలు ఉన్నారు, వారిలో ఒకరు పునీత యోహాను గారి తల్లి.

యేసు తన తల్లితో ఇలా అంటారు , “ఇదిగో నీ కుమారుడు”, ఈ దృశ్యాన్ని మన మనస్సులో చిత్రించుకున్నప్పుడు, యేసు తన శిష్యుని సంరక్షణను తన తల్లికి అప్పగిస్తున్నారు. పరిశుద్ధగ్రంధం చూసినట్లయితే పునీత యోహాను గారి తల్లి కూడా అక్కడ శిలువ వద్ద ఉంది, కాబట్టి అతనిని తల్లి మరియ సంరక్షణకు అప్పగించడం ద్వారా ఆధ్యాత్మిక కోణం కలిగిఉంది. మన జీవితంలో మన తల్లులు ముఖ్యమైన పాత్ర పోషిస్తారు.
మరియ మా తల్లిగా ఇప్పుడు మన విశ్వాస జీవితంలో ముఖ్యమైన పాత్ర పోషిస్తుంది. ఆమె మనకు తోడుగా ఉంటుంది మరియు మన ప్రయాణంలో మాకు మద్దతు ఇస్తుంది, ఆమె మన కోసం ప్రార్థిస్తుంది, మన రోజువారీ జీవితాలు సత్యం, మార్గం, జీవము అయినటువంటి తన కుమారుని వైపు నడిపిస్తుంది. ఆమె ప్రార్థన చేసే స్త్రీ, ఆమె మొదటి శిష్యులతో కలిసి ప్రార్థిస్తుంది, కాబట్టి గౌరవం మరియు ప్రశంసలకు అర్హమైనది (అపొస్తలుల కార్యాలు 1:12-14)
ఈ కోణంలో, శిష్యులమైన మనం ఇప్పుడు ఆమె కుమారులు మరియు కుమార్తెలుగా మారాము మరియు ఆమె సంరక్షణ మరియు మార్గదర్శకత్వంలో మనం యేసు వైపుకు నడిపించబడాలి.
ప్రియమైన శిష్యుడికి - "ఇదిగో నీ తల్లి"
శిష్యుని ప్రేమకు కదిలి, శిలువ వరకు ఆయనను నమ్మకంగా అనుసరించిన శిష్యుల దుఃఖానికి చలించి, తన స్థానంలో క్రీస్తు తన తల్లిని ఇచ్చారు, ఆమె ఆ శిష్యుడిని యేసు నిర్దేశించిన మార్గంలో నడిపిస్తుంది.
యేసు కూడా, ఒక తల్లికి ప్రియమైన కొడుకుగా, తన తల్లి క్షేమాన్ని మరచిపోడు, కాబట్టి అతను తన ప్రియమైన శిష్యునికి ఆమె సంక్షేమం, ఆమెను చూసుకోవడం, సేవ చేయడం మరియు రక్షించడం వంటి బాధ్యతలను అప్పగించాడు. పునీత యోహాను గారు సంతోషంగా ఆమెను తన ఇంటికి తీసుకొనివెళ్ళారు. "ఆ గడియ నుండి ఆమెను స్వీకరించి, ఈ శిష్యుడు ఆమెను తన ఇంటికి తీసుకువెళ్ళాడు." (యోహాను 19:27). ఇది తన తల్లి పట్ల కుమారునికి గల గొప్ప ప్రేమను చిత్రీకరిస్తుంది.

క్రీస్తు సిలువకు దగ్గరగా ఉండడం
క్రీస్తు యొక్క శిలువ మనకు నిత్యజీవం యొక్క ప్రేమ మరియు దయ యొక్క అత్యున్నత వ్యక్తీకరణ, మనము దుఃఖముతో మరియు నిశబ్దంగా సిలుగా దగ్గర ఉండటం మాత్రమే కాదు, తల్లి మరియమ్మ అదేవిధంగా పునీత యోహాను వలె విశ్వాసాన్ని వ్యక్తపరచాలి, తద్వారా క్రీస్తు బాధలను మన స్వంతం చేసుకోవాలి.
మనము ఎగతాళి చేయబడినప్పుడు మరియు విడిచిపెట్టబడినప్పుడు కూడా మనము యేసుతోనే ఉండగలుతున్నామా!
మన భయాలు మరియు ఆందోళనలు, శారీరక, ఆధ్యాత్మిక మరియు మానసిక బాధలలో కూడా, మనము క్రీస్తు సిలువపై నమ్మకాన్ని మరియు నిరీక్షణను ఉంచుతున్నామా!
కుటుంబం మరియు దగ్గరి & ప్రియమైన వారి పట్ల ప్రేమ మరియు బాధ్యత
నాల్గవ ఆజ్ఞ మనకు "మీ తండ్రిని మరియు మీ తల్లిని గౌరవించండి" అని బోధిస్తుంది, ఏది ఎదురైనా మన జీవితంలో, సంతోషాలు లేదా దుఃఖం వచ్చినా వారిని ప్రేమించాలని మరియు శ్రద్ధ వహించాలని మాకు పిలుపునిస్తుంది. యేసు తన శిష్యుడికి తన తల్లినీ అప్పగించడం ద్వారా భూమిపై తన జీవితం ముగిసిన తర్వాత కూడా కుమారుని పాత్రను సంపూర్ణంగా నెరవేర్చాడు. అందువల్ల, మన కుటుంబ బాధ్యతలకు మనం బాధ్యత వహించాలని మరియు వాటిని నెరవేర్చాలని ఇది మనకు బోధిస్తుంది. దేవునికి విధేయత మొదట వస్తుంది అనేది నిజం, అయితే ఇది కుటుంబం పట్ల బాధ్యతను తిరస్కరించదు లేదా తగ్గించదు, బదులుగా కుటుంబాన్ని దేవునికి దగ్గరగా చేయడానికి దానిని ఎక్కువ ప్రోత్సహిస్తుంది. ఈ విషయంలో అపొస్తలుడైన పౌలు ఇలా పేర్కొన్నాడు: "కానీ ఎవరైనా తన బంధువులను గూర్చి, అందును విశేషించి తన కుటుంబమును గూర్చి శ్రద్ద వహింపనిచో అతడు ఈ విశ్వాసమును విడినట్లే. అట్టి వాడు అవిశ్వాసి కంటే చెడ్డవాడు." The Third Word
“Standing by the cross of Jesus were his mother and his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary of Magdala. When Jesus saw his mother* and the disciple there whom he loved, he said to his mother, “Woman, behold, your son.”Then he said to the disciple, “Behold, your mother.” And from that hour the disciple took her into his home.” (John 19:25-27)
The Third Phrase/Word perfectly reveals the love and concern he has for his mother and disciple. In the midst of injustice and inhumanity, the heart broken mother and distraught disciple stand near the cross, Jesus looking at them entrusts to each other expressing his love and affection, care and concern for his loved ones.
Standing at the Cross : Devastated Mother & Distressed Disciple
Since she was at the cross and on the calvary journey, we can assume that Mother Mary had witnessed everything that happened. She too had suffered spiritually looking at her son being arrested, tried and condemned unjustly; insulted and injured him cruelly. Thus the prophecy of Simione is fulfilled here, "And a sword will pierce your own soul too." (Luke 2:35). There are other women who followed Jesus to the cross, one among them was St. John’s mother.
St. John, the son of Zebedee, when all other disciples scattered and could not dare to identify with Jesus for the fear of being condemned and mocked by Romans and the other people. Although St. Peter tried to accompany secretly but he could not succeed and feared therefore, betrayed Jesus in his denials. Only St. John accompanied and stood at the cross of Christ, distressed looking at the suffering of his Master, Jesus.
To Beloved Mother - Behold your son
Jesus says to Mother, “behold your son”, when we picture this scene in our minds, Jesus is entrusting the care of his disciple to His Mother. Literally St. John’s mother is also there at the cross, therefore by entrusting him to her care is something spiritual in nature. Our mothers play a significant role in our lives.
Mary as our mother now plays a significant role in our faith life. She accompanies us and supports us in our journey, she prays for us, for our daily lives to lead us to her Son, who is the way, the truth and the life. she is a woman of prayer, She prays with the first disciples, therefore worthy of respect and praise(Acts of the Apostles 1:12-14)
Thus in this sense, we the disciples now become her sons and daughters and in her care and guidance we are led to Jesus.
To Beloved Disciple - Behold your Mother
Touched by love and moved by the sadness of the disciples who faithfully followed him to the cross, in his place Christ gives him His Mother who will guide him on the path laid down by Jesus.
Jesus is also, being a beloved son to a mother, does not forget the welfare of His mother, thus he entrusts to his beloved disciple the responsibility of her welfare, to care for her, to serve and protect her as Jesus would have fulfilled. St.John happily receives her into his home. "From that time on, this disciple took her into his home." (John 19:27). It pictures the great love of a Son towards his Mother.
Two Lessons:
Staying close to the Cross of Christ
The Cross of Christ is the highest expression of love and grace of eternal life for us, we need to stay close in sorrow and silence more than that need to express faith like Mother and St. John, thereby making Christ’s sufferings our own.
Even when I am ridiculed, and abandoned am I remaining with Jesus
Even in my fears and anxieties, physical, spiritual and emotional sufferings, I am placing my trust and hope in the Cross of Christ.
Love and Responsibility towards family and near & dear ones
The fourth commandment teaches us to “honour your father and your mother”, which calls upon us to love and care for them no matter what comes in our way, be it joys or sorrows. Jesus has perfectly fulfilled the role of a Son to a Mother after his life ended here on earth, by entrusting to his disciple. Therefore, it teaches us that we are to be responsible for our family obligations and fulfil them. It is true that obedience to God comes first, but this does not negate or lessen the responsibility towards family rather intensifies it in order to make a family closer to God. The Apostle Paul in this regard states: "If anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for his immediate family, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever." (1 Timothy 5:8)
Final Thoughts:
Dear Brothers and sisters, This third word turns our gaze from the Cross to Mother Mary and the Disciple, we all can imagine hereafter life will not be easy for Mother Mary without son, so also to the disciple without Master. Hence, looking at their inconsolable situation, he consoles and comforts them showing his concern by entrusting to each other. here:
Jesus establishes a filial relationship
Jesus entrusts a new mission to Mother and Disciple.
Jesus provides consolation, gifting Mother to disciple and the disciple to mother, it encourages us that God will provide for us in our needs if we stand by him at his cross in faith.
